The safety and convenience of the traveling public is a primary concern of Silver Creek Township. The Township aims to make all roads passable within a reasonable time after snowfall ends. However:
- The Township does not guarantee bare pavement and may choose not to sand entire stretches of roadway.
- Drivers should exercise caution and reduce speed as legal limits may not be safe in all winter conditions.
- Private snowplows may not deposit or push snow onto public roads.
Doing so can create safety hazards, reduce visibility, or cause property damage.
If snow or ice is placed onto township roads, the Township may:
- Remove the snow at the property owner’s expense
- Hold both the property owner and the person responsible liable
(per MN Statutes 160.27 Sub. 5 and 169.42)
