Fire Warden/Burning Permits

Burning Permits are Required

You can contact the Township office to get a burning permit.  This permit is good for three days, and allows you to burn piled, vegetative material between the hours of 6 PM and 8 AM.    You can also obtain an online permit that is good for the rest of the calendar year for $5 through  www.dnr.state.mn.us/burningpermits     It is never permissible to burn garbage or construction debris.  Recreational fires (3' by 3') do not require a permit.  All fires must be attended at all times.  Please be advised that burning bans and restrictions are commonly put into effect each spring by the DNR.  A burning permit is not required during winter months when there are three inches or more of snow cover.  If you have questions, you can call the local DNR Forestry office at 320-232-1061
